Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Department Development:

  2. Lead, mentor, and build a high-performance team for the Manufacturing Engineering department.

  3. Develop strategies to streamline manufacturing processes and ensure consistent high-quality production.
  4. Collaborate with other departments including R&D, Product Development, and Quality Assurance to align manufacturing engineering efforts with overall business goals.

  5. Process Development & Optimization:

  6. Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, including turbine assembly and testing, precision machining (CNC and conventional), and fabrication.

  7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing operations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  8. Ensure the adoption and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies and methodologies into manufacturing processes.

  9. Process Planning & Capacity Planning:

  10. Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation, and workload balancing to ensure efficient production schedules.

  11. Develop, implement and manage process planning strategies that ensure the scalability of operations in line with future growth targets by optimizing / continually improve the Manufacturing cost.
  12. Evaluate current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.

  13. Technical Leadership & Innovation:

  14. Lead the development of jigs, fixtures, and assembly line setups, ensuring they align with manufacturing requirements.

  15. Guide the development and execution of Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) initiatives for new product introductions.
  16. Provide technical expertise in PPAP, FMEA, and other advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure product quality and compliance with customer requirements.

  17. New Product Development (NPD):

  18. Support New Product Development (NPD) by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product launches.

  19. Ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) principles are applied to all new products, improving manufacturability and reducing time-to-market.

  20. Quality & Compliance:

  21. Ensure manufacturing processes meet the required quality standards and industry regulations.

  22. Implement and maintain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
  23. Conduct risk assessments and implement FMEA to minimize the impact of potential process failures.

  24. Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:

  25. Champion the use of Six Sigma, Lean, and other continuous improvement tools to improve operational performance.

  26. Develop strategies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and drive efficiency in all manufacturing operations.
  27. Lead problem-solving initiatives to resolve production issues and bottlenecks.

  28. Safety & Sustainability:

  29. Promote a culture of safety in all manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance.

  30. Drive sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing processes, focusing on reducing energy consumption, waste, and improving overall environmental impact.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications:

    Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong experience in rotary equipment, turbines, compressors, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience in precision machining (CNC & conventional), turbine assembly, fabrication, and testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, process planning, capacity planning, and industrial engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing PPAP, FMEA, and other advanced manufacturing techniques.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and TPM.

  • Experience in concurrent product and process development (CPPD), and New Product Development (NPD).
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and automation in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in developing jigs, fixtures, and assembly lines for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Sound technical knowledge in materials, welding, machining, and assembly processes.

  • Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
