Job Purpose

As an Enterprise Architect for Emerging Technology at GSK, you will play a critical role in exploring, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation across the enterprise. You will lead efforts to identify new trends, assess their relevance to GSK's business strategies, and design scalable solutions that enable business transformation. This role demands a forward-thinking individual who is passionate about technology, deeply knowledgeable about industry advancements, and eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Exploration and Innovation

  • Monitor Emerging Trends: Continuously track global technology trends, including AI, machine learning, blockchain, advanced analytics, quantum computing, IoT, and edge computing, and assess their potential impact on GSK's operations and strategy.
  • Technology Pilots: Lead technical proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot programs to evaluate the feasibility, scalability, and business value of emerging technologies.
  • Partnerships: Build relationships with leading technology vendors, startups, and academic institutions to gain early access to innovations and foster collaboration opportunities.

Strategic Architecture Development

  • Enterprise Solutions: Define and design enterprise-level architecture frameworks that enable the adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Roadmaps: Develop technology roadmaps that align with GSK's business goals and drive long-term innovation across the organization.
  • Governance: Ensure adherence to architectural standards, policies, and compliance requirements while introducing new technologies.

Driving Business Transformation

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, IT teams, R&D, manufacturing, commercial and Global functions teams to identify innovation opportunities and co-create solutions that advance GSK's mission.
  • Use Case Identification: Work closely with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement high-value use cases for emerging technologies.
  • Value Realization: Establish metrics to measure the impact of emerging technologies on business performance, efficiency, and growth.

Leadership and Thought Leadership

  • Advocacy: Act as a thought leader, promoting a culture of innovation and encouraging experimentation with new technologies.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Educate and train teams across the enterprise on the capabilities and applications of emerging technologies.
  • Innovation Forums: Organize workshops, seminars, and hackathons to cultivate ideas and showcase technological advancements

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Total 16+ years of experience out of which 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or innovation roles in large-scale organizations.
  • Proven expertise in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, blockchain, quantum computing, and more.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) and their role in enabling innovation.
  • Experience in designing scalable, secure, and compliant architecture solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to GSK's operations.
  • Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar.
  • Demonstrated success in driving technology innovation projects from ideation to implementation.
