About the Role

As a Lead Engineer in NZ Technology Domain, you'll play a key role in provide a technical IBM Mainframe administrative role in supporting and maintaining the Bank's Operational infrastructure for the Mainframe environment, thereby ensuring IAAS operationally meets its Business Service Delivery targets and maintains currency, stability and availability of all services managed within the Platform environment.

What will your day look like?
Great written communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and easy to consume mannerPerforming Mainframe DB2 system administration roles including DB2 installs and version upgradesPerforming Mainframe DB2 Incident /Problem and Change support activitiesGreat with people and know-how to build and maintain relationships. You'll be able to inspire, facilitate, communicate, and negotiate with ease.You can talk at length about mainframe concepts, security, storage and networkComfortable coding in one or scripting languages and you use these skills to automate as much as possible.Ability to advise upon, design, and implement operational procedures around backup, availability, and reliability best practice.Experience implementing Disaster recovery procedures, along with automation and alerting.Ability to quickly grasp new content and the ability to translate this to your ChapterA resilient personality and comfortable with changeable to overcome setbacks as they occur.You are passionate about growing & developing others and have a proven track record in teamwork , coaching and mentoring What will you bring?

Must have' knowledge, skills and experiences

10+ years Mainframe DB2 system admin experienceHave personally performed DB2 release/version upgrades on MainframePrevious Mainframe system product installation experienceAbility to define and automate incident and threshold alertingStrong Mainframe z/OS skills and understandingExperience in implementing and performing backup and recovery proceduresExperience with DR/Failover configuration, setup and operationStrong understanding of Mainframe security RACF systemDemonstrate understanding of Mainframe Network and Storage conceptsDemonstrate incident/problem analysis and resolution skills

Good to have' knowledge, skills and experiences

System programming skills in Assembler/REXX/CobolMainframe performance management experienceMainframe experience managing CICS/MQ . IIB environmentsExperience with operating and configuring mainframe zLinux environments So why join us?
