Primary Skills:

  1. AWS Infrastructure & Architecture

  2. Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, peering, IGW etc.)

  3. Designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures

  4. Infrastructure Migration

  5. Experience migrating workloads from on-premises to AWS

  6. Familiarity with AWS Migration tools (AWS Migration Hub, Server Migration Service, Application Migration Service)

  7. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  8. Proficient in Terraform (preferred)

  9. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins)

  10. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  11. Creating architecture diagrams(HLD/LLD), runbooks, and technical documentation

  12. Security & Compliance

IAM policies, encryption, security groups, and compliance frameworks

  1. Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps)

  2. Implementing cost-saving strategies (rightsizing, reserved instances, auto-scaling)

  3. Familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Trusted Advisor

  4. Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning

  5. Diagnosing and resolving complex issues in AWS environments

  6. Network, compute, and storage troubleshooting

Secondary Skills (Nice-to-have or supporting competencies)

  1. Security & Compliance

  2. IAM policies, encryption, security groups, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)

  3. Monitoring & Logging

  4. Experience with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party tools like Datadog or Splunk

  5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  6. Working with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Finance)

  7. Translating business requirements into technical solutions

  8. Multi-Cloud Awareness
