Job Summary:The De-dusting Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of de-dusting systems in a ferrous shredder plant. This role ensures that dust emissions are controlled effectively in compliance with environmental regulations and internal safety standards. The engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) teams to maintain air quality and ensure system performance.
Key Responsibilities:System Oversight: Monitor and manage de-dusting systems (bag filters, cyclones, scrubbers, etc.) to ensure optimal performance. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on de-dusting equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues.
Environmental Compliance: Ensure that air quality and dust emission levels are within the limits set by local environmental authorities. Upgrades & Improvements: Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to dust control systems for better efficiency and reliability. Reporting: Maintain logs and generate reports related to dust emissions, system performance, and maintenance activities.
Coordination: Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repair, servicing, or installation of dust control equipment. Safety: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with plant safety procedures and environmental regulations. Training: Train operational staff on the proper use and upkeep of de-dusting systems.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree/diploma in mechanical engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.3–5 years of experience in dust control systems in heavy industrial or metallurgical operations (preferred). Knowledge of ferrous shredding operations is a strong advantage. Familiarity with air pollution control equipment and regulatory standards (e.g., EPA, local pollution control boards).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management systems.
