Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned UI/UX Tech Lead to spearhead the Generative AI Center of Excellence (CoE) at Barclays. This is a strategic leadership role that goes beyond traditional front-end development, requiring deep expertise in modern web technologies, architectural design, and hands-on development. The ideal candidate will drive innovation in user experience for Gen AI applications and lead a high-performing team in building scalable, secure, and intuitive interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of Gen AI-powered applications with a focus on UI/UX excellence.
  • Architect and implement scalable front-end solutions using ; familiarity with Angular is a plus.
  • Evaluate and apply modern design patterns, architecture standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including backend, data science, and product to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Ensure application compatibility, performance optimization, and security compliance.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the growth of the Gen AI CoE.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in Gen AI, UI/UX, and front-end technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on UI/UX.
  • Proven expertise in and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Experience in API integration.
  • Solid understanding of application security, performance, and compatibility.
  • Exposure to Angular is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in leading innovation initiatives or CoEs is highly desirable.
