Quality Assurance Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Quality Systems Management:

  • Implement & maintain QMS (ISO 9001/22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP)
  • Develop SOPs for raw material inspection, in-process checks & finished goods testing
  • Manage documentation for certifications & regulatory compliance

2. Quality Control Operations:

  • Oversee testing of:

  • Raw materials (water, concentrates, sweeteners)

  • In-process parameters (Brix, acidity, CO2 levels)

  • Finished products (microbiological, sensory, packaging integrity)

  • Approve/reject materials & products based on test results

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to FSSAI regulations & food safety standards
  • Handle all statutory/third-party audits (ISO, BIS, FDA)
  • Maintain records for legal & customer requirements

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze quality metrics (complaints, defects, non-conformances)
  • Lead root cause analysis & CAPA implementation
  • Drive initiatives to reduce defects & improve processes

5. Team Leadership:

  • Manage QC chemists, microbiologists & inspectors
  • Conduct training on GMP, hygiene & quality protocols
  • Coordinate with Production/R&D for new product trials

6. Supplier & Customer Quality:

  • Evaluate supplier quality performance
  • Address customer complaints & implement corrective actions

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO, GMP, FSSAI, BIS)..
  • Proficiency in statistical quality control tools and root cause analysis.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
