Loader/Unloader

• A grocery loader picker, also known as an order selector or warehouse picker, is responsible for accurately and efficiently filling customer orders from warehouse inventory and preparing them for shipment. This physically demanding role is essential in a grocery or retail distribution center.

Responsibilities

• A loader picker's daily tasks involve both physical and logistical duties. Key responsibilities include:
• Order fulfillment: Receiving and processing digital or paper order tickets to locate and select specific products in the correct quantity.
• Inventory management: Using handheld scanners or computerized systems to track inventory, restock shelves, and perform regular stock counts to report discrepancies.
• Quality control: Inspecting items for damage, defects, or expiration dates before they are packed.
• Packaging and staging: Accurately wrapping, labeling, and packing items into boxes, and assembling pallets for transport to the correct loading dock.
• Loading and unloading: Moving goods from delivery vehicles to storage areas and loading completed, wrapped pallets onto shipping trucks.
