Role Title : Cost Accountant – Product Costing

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The Costing professional will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost sheets, analyzing product costing structures, and supporting accurate and competitive product pricing. The role includes close coordination with production, sourcing, and finance teams to ensure precise cost allocation. The candidate will also provide detailed financial and cost analysis to support managerial decision-making while ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed product cost sheets (Rm to FG).
  • Prepare and analyze Bills of Material (BOMs), consumption data, and process costing.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and design teams to validate costing inputs.
  • Support product pricing decisions by providing accurate cost analysis and margin insights.
  • Monitor cost variances and recommend cost-optimization strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, cost audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Assist in budgeting, standard costing updates, and cost-reporting dashboards.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in
product costing
, preferably in textiles, manufacturing, or a similar industry.

Strong understanding of
costing methodologies, BOM preparation, and cost sheet development
.

Proficiency in cost accounting and financial analysis with strong analytical and numerical skills.

High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field;
CMA (Cost Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred
.

Proficiency in accounting and
costing software; experience with ERP systems
is an advantage.
