Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

  • Own, manage, and enhance all cloud infrastructure components across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Deep involvement in provisioning and managing AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, EKS, ECS, VPC, Route53, Elasticache, and more.
  • Manage large-scale distributed systems built on microservices architectures in fully containerized environments.

Deployment & Automation

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, deployment, scaling, and rollback.
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform to automate environment provisioning.
  • Build automation tooling for faster deployments, improved reliability, and reduced manual intervention.

Containerization & Orchestration

  • Operate and optimize multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments (EKS or equivalent).
  • Implement best practices around container lifecycle, auto-scaling, service mesh, gateways, and monitoring.

Security & Compliance

  • Build a Security-first infrastructure architecture across all services.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices such as secret management, security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and least-privilege IAM policies.
  • Ensure systems and data are protected against threats and vulnerabilities.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability

  • Configure next-gen monitoring and observability tools Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Zabbix, Consul, etc.
  • Maintain high availability, zero/minimal downtime, and optimal performance of production environments.
  • Act as part of the 24/7 on-call rotation for production issues and incidents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with development, QA, data, and product teams to support infrastructure-related needs.
  • Contribute to improving DevOps culture and driving engineering excellence across teams.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases, and operational playbooks.

Cost Optimization

  • Continuously review infrastructure utilization, performance, and cost to optimize cloud spending.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • 3–6 years of hands-on DevOps experience in high-scale environments.
  • Strong expertise with Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration methodologies.
  • Strong experience with AWS (EC2, EKS/ECS, VPC, RDS, Route53, IAM, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipeline automation.
  • Extensive scripting experience in Python and/or Shell.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Chef).
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform.
  • Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with NoSQL systems.
