1. XML

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring XML is coded as per DTD/Schema.
  • Ensuring data accuracy against the original manuscript.
  • Validating/parsing an XML file and providing accurate output ML to pagination.
  • Making sure all marked corrections are properly interpreted and diligently carried out, and no errors are introduced.
  • Producing error-free XML output through Quality Checking.

Candidate Profile:

  • Min. 2+ years experience in the relevant field.
  • Knowledge in DTD/Schema & MathML.
  • Experience in using validation tools.
  • Exposure to XSLT would be an added advantage.
  • Flexible to work in rotational shifts.

2. InDesign Paginator

Responsibilities:

  • Laying out pages as per the design file and specification within the stipulated time.
  • Making sure all marked corrections are properly interpreted and diligently carried out, and no errors are introduced.
  • Align journal contents such a headers, abstract, keywords, tables, paragraphs, figures, math equations, references, etc, as per customer specifications,
  • Pre-flighting PDFs and fixing any log errors.
  • Coordinating with the other team to ensure the timely completion of allotted jobs.
  • Adapting to the working environment and defined workflow.

Candidate profile:

  • Graduate with 2+ years of experience in the publishing industry.
  • InDesign with XML, if you have worked on Journals will be added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of the Journal workflow.
  • Analytical skills to review input material and a logical understanding of the template.
  • Flexible to work in shifts.

3.LaTeX

Candidate profile:

  • Min. Graduate with 2+ years of experience in the publishing industry.
  • Knowledge and prior experience in XML and MathML will be an added advantage.
  • Analytical skills to review the input method and the logical understanding template.
  • Expertise in auto-generating bibliography, index, and table of contents in LATEX.
  • Macro writing knowledge in any text editor.
  • Flexible to work shifts.

4. Quality Control

Candidate profile:

  • Min. Graduate with 2+ years of experience in the publishing industry.
  • A person should have experience in handling STM journals and good experience in Proof/Rev/Issue/Printer/Cover and Color process.
  • Magazine experience is preferable with knowledge of interior and cover designs.
