Role & responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operations and continuous monitoring of assigned unit equipment. Responsible for safe execution of all unit operations.
- Report incidents (equipment failure, safety/process issues) within the same shift and submit to HRRL within 48 hours. Proficient in computer usage and MS Office.
- Enforce strict adherence to procedures, safety systems, and HRRL guidelines by self and agency manpower. Follow HRRL supervisor instructions and provide timely feedback.
- Manage emergencies and coordinate with refinery emergency response plans.
- Conduct daily rack-up and pack-up meetings. Perform root cause analysis for incidents/emergencies.
- Prepare and implement Management of Change (MOC) for equipment or process changes.
- Plan plant production and budgeting activities, Manage inventory of chemicals and lube oils.
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual reports, Plan for plant start-up and shutdown activities.
- Handle manpower planning and deployment. Coordinate maintenance jobs (e.g., flange leaks, pump issues).
- Develop and maintain training charts; organize technical and behavioral training. Execute and monitor daily job planning, Maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Oversee manpower, training, shift planning, industrial relations, and payroll issues.
- Ensure agency staff are familiar with PFDs, P&IDs, line tracing, O&M manuals, and emergency protocols.
Preferred candidate profile
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical/Petrochemical Engineering. Safety certifications (NEBOSH/OSHA) preferred.
Experience: years in refinery/process plant operations with water treatment plant exposure to start-up, shutdown, safety, and emergency handling with the experience in pre-commisioning, commisioning and operation of Utilities will be preferable.
Skills: Strong knowledge of plant equipment and operations, Proficient in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and MOC. Familiar with SOPs, P&IDs, PFDs, and shift documentation, Skilled in MS Office and DCS/SCADA systems.
- Behavioral: Strong leadership, team handling, and training abilities. Effective communicator in Hindi and English. Safety-focused, disciplined, and decision-maker under pressure.
