About the role:

Teachmint is looking for a highly skilled SDE 3 – Backend engineer to drive the design and development of our large-scale backend systems. In this role, you'll take ownership of complex technical problems, build high-performance services in Python, and influence architectural decisions across the engineering team

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Ownership: Lead end-to-end development of backend services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Architecture & System Design: Define and implement robust backend architectures aligned with best practices and business needs.
• Hands-on Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while contributing to testing, debugging, and optimization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend, DevOps, product, and QA teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Problem Solving: Diagnose production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Continuous Improvement: Explore new technologies, evaluate tools, and propose innovative approaches to enhance backend capabilities.

Requirements and Skills:

• Python Proficiency: 5+ years of experience with Python 3.x and frameworks like Django or Flask.
• Backend Excellence: Strong background in system design, architecture patterns, and distributed systems.
• Database Skills: Experience working with both NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Microservices: Proven experience designing and deploying microservice-based systems.
• API Development: Solid understanding of RESTful API standards and best practices.
• Cloud Experience: Hands-on exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience mentoring teams or leading technical initiatives.
• Communication: Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration solutions.
• Experience with Pytest, Unittest, or similar testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
