Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and experienced Dog Handler to join our team for the Day Shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision, care, safety, and enrichment of dogs in our daycare and boarding facility, ensuring a positive experience for every dog.

Key Responsibilities

Dog Care & Supervision (80% of Role):

• Group Management: Supervise dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments in playgroups to ensure safe and appropriate interaction.
• Safety First: Actively monitor dog body language, intervene immediately and appropriately to prevent conflicts or injuries, and manage energy levels within the group.
• Health & Wellness: Perform regular health checks, administer medications as instructed (oral, topical), and report any signs of illness, injury, or distress to the shift lead or manager immediately.
• Feeding & Hydration: Prepare and distribute meals and fresh water according to established schedules and dietary needs.
• Potty Breaks & Cleaning: Ensure timely and frequent outdoor potty breaks and maintain a clean, sanitized, and odor-free environment in play areas, kennels, and common spaces.

Facility & Administrative:

• Kennel Management: Prepare boarding suites/kennels for arrivals and departures, including setting up bedding, bowls, and toys.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of dog activities, feeding, medication, eliminations, and behavior.
• Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform daily deep cleaning and sanitization protocols for all areas (floors, walls, equipment, toys, etc.).
• Customer Service (Minimal): Assist with check-ins and check-outs, or relay information to the front desk regarding dog behavior or client requests, as needed.

Teamwork & Professionalism:

• Communicate effectively with team members regarding dog behavior, incidents, and shift transition details.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience working with dogs in a professional capacity (dog daycare, boarding, veterinary clinic, or shelter) is highly preferred.
• Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit, able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and/or be on your feet for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 kg.
• Dog Knowledge: Strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, and safe handling techniques for all breeds and temperaments.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, responsible, and a positive team player.
• Communication: Good command of English and/or local language (Kannada/Hindi) to communicate effectively with the team.
• Must be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Shift Details

• Shift: Day Shift
• Hours: 6am to 6 pm. Specific hours will be confirmed upon hiring.
• Work Days: Includes working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.
