Project Controls Advisor

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for solar and onshore renewables projects. 
• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and forecast costs to ensure adherence to financial targets while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. 
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and assess schedule impacts to facilitate timely delivery of solar and onshore renewables projects. 
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize potential disruptions or delays in solar and onshore renewable energy initiatives. 
• Conduct performance analysis, variance analysis, and reporting to assess project status, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions as needed. 
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and best practices specific to solar and onshore renewables projects, maintaining a focus on quality deliverables. 
• Maintain accurate project documentation, prepare regular reports, and present project performance updates to key stakeholders. 
• Drive process enhancements and improvements in project controls methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness across solar and onshore renewables projects. 
• Act as the main point of contact for all project controls related activity for the project(s)  
• Deliver appropriate stage gate estimates and basis of estimate  
• Assist in the development of stage gate appropriate Financial Memorandums (FMs)  
• Deliver an integrated Master Control Schedule (MCS) and level 1 schedule for the project / programme  
• Ensure the Forecast Final Cost (FFC), cost phasing, variances and uncertainties are maintained and reviewed with Project Leadership monthly  
• Ensure project change and risk impacts are captured in cost and schedule updates (inc. trends)  
• Coordinate quarterly financial updates (QPF's) and internal Project Controls verification reviews (Stage Gate/MCEs)  
• Ensure Project Information Management support is in place to support the project / programme

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. 

- 3+ years of experience in project controls, preferably within the renewable energy sector. 

- Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, cost control, and risk management. 

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively. 

- Experience in implementing and managing project control systems for large-scale in renewable energy 

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. 

- Understanding of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices in renewables sector
