A new agency, the Aga Khan Agency for the Habitat (AKAH), works to ensure that people live in physical settings that are as safe as possible from the effects of natural disasters, that residents who do live in such high risk areas are able to cope with disasters in terms of preparedness and response, and that these settings provide access to social and financial services that lead to greater opportunities and a better quality of life. The new agency merges the activities of the Aga Khan Planning and Building Services, with its prize-winning water and sanitation programmes and low-cost habitat products, such as smoke-free stoves; the humanitarian arm of AKDN, FOCUS, which promotes disaster mitigation and resiliency and intervenes after disasters; the AKDN's Disaster Risk Management Initiative, which focuses on disaster preparedness in remote areas; and the environment- and habitat-related activities of the Aga Khan Foundation, including the Prince Sadruddin Fund for the Environment and the Foundation's highly regarded rural support programmes.
Education: Bachelor's degree in management accountancy / MBA degree, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 7 years' experience in handling procurement in any company.
Background in construction related industries and NGO would be preferable.
Skills:
Technical Skills:
- Advanced level of expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
- Knowledge of accounting software like Tally ERP, SAP, etc
- Awareness about risk assessment tools and mitigation management.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as ability in "reading" the market.
- Suppliers database.
- Experience in collecting and analysing data.
JOB SCOPE:
AKAH India is seeking Procurement Manager who serves as the backend support for all the procurement processes within the organisation. This position is part of the procurement function and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies.
- Discovering profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships.
- Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Lead the empanelment process of contractors/partners/vendors.
- Maintenance of all documents and records pertaining to procurement.
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
- Examine and test existing contracts.
- Review of contracts, MOU and agreements.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Understanding of contracts, MOU, agreements and the related compliances.
- Work independently on preparing bid summary, analysis and comparisons.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards of the organisation.
- Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and implementing efficient procurement strategies without compromising on quality.
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenditures, and providing financial reports to CFO.
- Work closely with other departments to understand their procurement needs and align strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Consider and integrate sustainability and social responsibility factors into the procurement process when applicable.
