Role Overview:

As a PHP Lead, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performing web applications built on PHP frameworks. You'll mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and take ownership of code quality, architecture decisions, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using PHP and related technologies
  • Establish coding standards and ensure best practices across the development team
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular code audits

Development & Architecture

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality PHP code (preferably with Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar)
  • Work on RESTful APIs, database design, and server-side logic
  • Participate in system architecture and technical planning discussions

Team Management & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, helping them grow their technical skills
  • Manage task allocation and sprint planning in collaboration with the project manager or scrum master
  • Help resolve development blockers and performance issues

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, , or Angular)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development processes
  • Understanding of security best practices in web applications
