Qualifications

• Master or Ph.D degree in Civil or Structural (Ph.D is highly preferable).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on LNG tanks and cryogenic storage systems.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards related to LNG tanks.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in analysis and interpretation of SSI (Soil-Structure Interaction) and prestressed structure design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, STAAD Pro).
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong technical, organizational, planning, management and coordination skills.

Roles and Responsibilities;

• Reports to Seoul Office Team Leader and parallelly to India office CSA Team Leader and supervises Assigned Engineers (AE) and Designers.
• Setting up of various standard, design basis and specifications related to LNG and cryogenic tank. Reviews and interprets various design requirements, Client specifications for all projects. Lead development of design specifications, calculation, and drawings for LNG tank structures and foundations.
• Monitor related activities, engineering progress & resource planning of projects under execution.
• Leads and participates in discussions / informal studies / briefing with customers, vendors and other teams.
• Identifies and documents various lesson learned & best practices for future reference.
• Keeping updated with the latest technologies, materials, and methods in the field of LNG tank structural engineering to maintain expertise and contribute to innovation.
• Reports training identification and resource gap & plans for developmental activities to improve Team's capability.
• Preparation of detailed designs and 3D models of LNG tanks using computer-aided design software. Consideration of various factors such as material properties, loads and load combinations, and environmental conditions to ensure the structure meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Detailed structural analysis and design based on specialized and in-depth knowledge of LNG tanks and cryogenic storage systems. Structural analysis using advanced analytical tools and techniques to evaluate the strength, stability, and durability of LNG tank structures under different loading scenarios.
• Performing finite element analysis, stress analysis and fatigue analysis. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to analyze the structural behavior and integrity taking into consideration various loading / boundary conditions and linear/non-linear behavior appropriately. Development and updation of calculation templates.
• Perform structural analysis and design of pre-stressed concrete LNG Tank.
• Carrying out Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) analysis and foundation design considering various loading conditions.
• Providing recommendations for design optimization, value engineering & enhancement of system improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards such as API 620 and ASME BPVC, and obtains necessary approvals from regulatory agencies.
• Provides engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance, leadership, technical leading, trouble shooting and expertise on LNG tanks in accordance with relevant codes (e.g. API, ACI, BS EN, NFPA), standards, design specifications, project procedures and requirements. Accountable for ensuring execution of the LNG tank scope being technically aligned and in compliance with National Code, COMPANY requirements, Specification and Standard according to the order of precedence.
• Interdisciplinary coordination and communication including mechanical, piping, and electrical engineers, to integrate various systems and components into the overall LNG tank design.
• Involvement for the entire project lifecycle, from concept development to commissioning, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
• Providing guidance and support to construction teams during fabrication, installation, troubleshoots issues, and develops solutions to address any concerns.
• Identification of scope of work and defining work process improvement within individual disciplines and across multiple disciplines. Directs the preparation of LNG storage tank engineering scope of work in Subcontractor's contract, advises and ensures design specifications, practices and procedures meeting safety and industry standards, project cost and schedule.
• Manages Subcontractor's structural and civil engineering activities related to LNG Tanks including validation of required resources, personnel qualifications and experience, usage of appropriate design tools, computer hardware and software.

Visiting SO for short biz trip (etc.) and establish Client Interaction and /or represent organization in front of Client/Customer.
