QA/QC Engineer – Precast Construction

Reports To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

Job Summary:

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems in all phases of precast concrete production and erection. This role ensures compliance with design specifications, company standards, and client requirements to deliver high-quality precast elements and on-site installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance (QA):

• Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection checklists, and testing procedures for precast concrete products.
• Ensure all materials and processes meet project specifications, codes, and standards (ASTM, BS, EN, ACI, etc.).
• Review project drawings and technical specifications to ensure design intent and quality requirements are met.
• Maintain calibration and verification records of testing equipment.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production and erection activities.

Quality Control (QC):

• Conduct inspection and testing of raw materials (cement, aggregates, reinforcement, etc.), concrete mixes, molds, and finished precast elements.
• Supervise quality aspects of production such as concrete batching, casting, curing, demolding, finishing, and storage.
• Inspect installation/erection of precast elements at the site to ensure alignment, level, and joint quality.
• Identify and record non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test results, and material certificates.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors for quality approvals.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in QA/QC within the precast concrete or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of concrete technology, mix design, and precast manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and relevant construction standards.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality documentation tools.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and site teams.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification.
• HSE awareness certification.
