Position Overview
The Locums Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and placing doctors (physicians, consultants, and other medical practitioners) on temporary or contractual assignments for clients in the US
This role demands strong communication skills, sales acumen, and a deep understanding of locum recruitment dynamics.
Role & responsibilities :
- Source, screen, and recruit qualified doctors and physicians for locum tenens
(temporary) roles across the US healthcare sectors.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of medical professionals through job boards,
databases, referrals, LinkedIn, and direct outreach.
- Conduct thorough interviews to assess candidate suitability, availability, licensing
status, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with doctors to ensure long-term
engagement and repeat placements.
- Collaborate closely with internal compliance and credentialing teams to ensure all
documentation is complete and accurate.
- Negotiate contract terms, pay rates, and scheduling details with both clients and
providers.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to placement and onboarding.
- Stay informed about healthcare recruitment trends, licensing requirements, and
locum market dynamics in the US.
- Achieve individual and team-based performance targets and KPIs.
Preferred candidate profile :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (neutral or US accent
preferred).
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship management abilities.
- Proven ability to influence and close deals in a fast-paced, target-driven
environment.
- Proficiency with ATS/CRM tools (e.g., Ceipal, JobDiva, Bullhorn, Salesforce).
- Sound understanding of locum recruitment processes, compliance, and credentialing.
- High degree of professionalism, accountability, and persistence.
- Bachelors degree in any discipline (preferred: Business, Healthcare, or Life Sciences).
- 25 years of experience in Locum Recruitment (US or UK market) is highly preferred.
- Candidates with sales experience in product-based companies with exposure to the US market may also be considered.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards and client engagement models.
