Position Summary

The Design Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering the complete design process for hospitality projects. This role requires close collaboration with all design consultants and serves as a key interface between the Client, PMC, Site Teams, and Operations to ensure alignment, efficiency, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Coordination

  • Manage and direct the end-to-end design process across all project phases.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary consultants including Architecture, Structure, Interior Design, MEP, Landscape, and specialized consultants.
  • Ensure design integration, technical consistency, and compliance with project standards, brand requirements, and statutory codes.

Stakeholder & Client Interface

  • Act as the central liaison between the Client, PMC, Site Teams, and Operations.
  • Conduct design reviews, presentations, and workshops to secure feedback and approvals.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure timely resolution of design-related issues.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Review and validate design submissions, drawings, and specifications for accuracy, functionality, and constructability.
  • Lead value engineering discussions while maintaining design integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure hospitality operational requirements and workflows are effectively embedded in the design.

Site Coordination & Implementation Support

  • Collaborate with site teams to resolve technical queries and ensure adherence to design intent.
  • Review shop drawings and material submittals to confirm alignment with approved designs.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections and participate in design coordination meetings.

Project Management & Documentation

  • Develop, monitor, and manage the design program to achieve project milestones.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including meeting minutes, design logs, approval trackers, and change management records.
  • Support tender processes, including review of technical submissions and vendor coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in hospitality design and multi-disciplinary coordination.
