The Physiologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with physical or physiological conditions. The role involves evaluating patient function, conducting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and supporting rehabilitation to improve health, fitness, and recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical, neurological, or physiological conditions through tests, observations, and clinical evaluations.
- Conduct diagnostic and functional assessments (e.g., exercise tolerance tests, ECG, EMG, pulmonary function tests, etc., as applicable).
- Develop and implement personalized treatment or rehabilitation programs.
- Monitor and document patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensure integrated patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers about exercises, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records and reports.
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
- Participate in departmental training, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiology / Exercise Physiology / Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
- Valid registration or certification (if applicable).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques.
