Role Purpose

To deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons across Key Stages [insert relevant KS, e.g. KS3KS5], fostering a positive learning environment that supports students in achieving their full potential in mathematics and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes respect and high achievement.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to engage learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the Mathematics department.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g. GCSE, A-Level, IB, IGCSE as applicable).
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress effectively with parents/carers.

  • Undertake pastoral duties (e.g. form tutor role) and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related subject (essential).
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience of teaching mathematics at secondary level [specify KS3–KS5 depending on school need].
  • Proven track record of student progress and attainment.
