Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Mainframe Assembler Programmer
to design, develop, optimize, and maintain high-performance system-level and application-level components on IBM z/OS. The role involves working with low-level Assembler (HLASM), debugging complex system routines, integrating with COBOL/PL1 applications, and supporting mission-critical mainframe workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and maintain
    Assembler (HLASM)
    programs running on z/OS.
  • Analyze and optimize
    high-performance, low-level system routines
    .
  • Work with
    system exits, control blocks (TCB, PSA, RCB, CVT, JCT, SCT, etc.)
    , and OS interfaces.
  • Support and enhance
    batch and online (CICS) programs
    written in Assembler.
  • Write and maintain
    JCL
    , PROC, PARMLIB updates, and job streams.
  • Debug complex issues using
    IBM Debug Tool, IPCS, Abend-AID, Fault Analyzer
    .
  • Integrate Assembler modules with
    COBOL, PL/I, and C/C++
    components.
  • Develop and maintain
    macro instructions
    , parameter libraries, and reusable code blocks.
  • Work with
    VSAM
    , BDAM, and low-level I/O routines.
  • Fix performance issues using:
  • storage optimization
  • instruction-level tuning
  • register management
  • minimizing supervisor calls
  • Collaborate with mainframe systems programmers, application developers, infrastructure teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews
