This is a critical role, working in close conjunction with the Head of Project Delivery and Head of Power Business, to lead solar projects delivery and operations, both ground-mounted and rooftop, offsite as well as onsite projects, primarily in India but also in Southeast Asia.

Job Summary:

The person will be responsible for reviewing and validating structural and civil designs submitted by EPC contractors, ensuring compliance, safety, and execution quality. Experienced in Design Engineering of Rooftop, Carport & Ground Mount Solar PV Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for structural and civil aspects.
• Review structural and civil engineering designs for ground-mounted, rooftop & carport solar PV systems, including structural designs layouts, GA drawings, Fabrication Drawings, Civil Designs & Drawings, calculations, etc.
• Validate Structural Analysis submissions of STAADpro, AutoCAD, etc
• Validate Site Contour, Topography, Geotech, SBC, Hydrology Data. Perform Flood Risk Assessment.
• Validate EPC submissions for compliance with international and local codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Prepare and enforce strong MQAP's, FQAP's, robust testing practices & reporting framework.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Conduct technical due diligence and risk assessments.
• Ensure detailed civil engineering drawings including boundary walls, roads, drainage designs, foundations, trenches, cable routing, and equipment support structures.
• Collaborate with electrical and project teams to ensure integrated system design.
• Monitor site execution plans and ensure alignment with approved designs and safety protocols.
• Provide expert feedback to EPCs on constructability, quality, and safety by conducting regular site visits during construction.
• Work closely in sync with Owner's Engineers, Lender's Engineers, Consultants.
• Support internal teams with engineering insights during project development and execution.
• Maintain documentation and support audits and reporting processes.

Other Position requirements

• Job located in Pune (India);
• Travelling in India, and occasionally in Southeast Asia;
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/civil engineering.
• 5-7 years successful experience in electrical engineering roles within solar PV or renewable energy projects;
• Strong knowledge of design and simulation tools (STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Ansys, etc.).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, dynamic forces – wind, seismic, etc
• Familiarity with international codes (IS, IEC, Eurocode) and regional construction practices.
• Spirit of dedication and teamwork;
• Resourceful and self-driven;
• Prior involvement in projects across Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines is a plus;
• Exposure to Wind Power and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be considered an added advantage; and
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
