Job Overview:

We are looking for a creative and versatile Comic Sketch Artist with a strong foundation in illustration and storytelling. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to various comic art styles (retro, noir, manga, western, digital inking, etc.) and translate scripts or storyboards into engaging, expressive comic panels and pages.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in comic art, storyboarding, or related illustration fields.
• A strong and diverse portfolio showcasing multiple comic art styles.
• Proficiency in traditional sketching and/or digital tools (Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, etc.).
• Understanding of anatomy, perspective, and visual storytelling techniques.
• Ability to meet deadlines and respond well to feedback.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with a creative team.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with colouring or lettering.
• Animation/ Sprite or motion comic experience.
• Familiarity with comic book publishing workflows or formats.
• Knowledge of cultural or historical themes for period-style storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create hand-drawn or digital comic sketches from scripts or verbal briefs.
• Develop characters, expressions, and dynamic poses in multiple art styles.
• Design comic pages with strong composition, panel flow, and visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with writers, art directors, and designers to refine visuals.
• Adapt style and tone according to project requirements (e.g., realistic, stylized, cartoony, etc.).
• Provide clean inked or rough concept sketches based on the stage of development.
• Deliver artworks in high-resolution formats for digital or print use.
