Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection & Testing
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of steel products (billets, coils, bars, sheets, etc.) as per specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, surface finish, hardness, and mechanical/chemical properties.
  • Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as UT, RT, MPI, DPI, etc.
  • Ensure incoming raw materials (scrap, billets, alloys) meet quality requirements.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Follow and implement ISO, BIS, ASTM, and other relevant quality standards.
  • Ensure products comply with customer-specific requirements and industry norms.
  • Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare inspection reports, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), and maintain quality records.
  • Update quality logs and share daily/weekly inspection reports with management.
  • Document deviations and corrective actions taken.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and dispatch teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to production teams to prevent recurrence of defects.
  • Assist in customer audits and third-party inspections.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive action (CAPA) processes.
