Job Description

➢ Assist the Director / Consultants in delivery of patient care as per the clinical standards.

➢ Adhere to the standard ophthalmology departmental procedures and protocols

➢ Check with the Director / Consultants about his / her need for standard and special equipment and ensure availability at all times

➢ Coordinate with the nursing staff to fill the requirements and needs for any particular departmental activity as and when required

➢ Responsible for upkeep & calibration of all equipment of the department. Liaise with Biomedical Engineer to ensure to smooth functioning of all equipment of the department.

➢ Report any damage to the instruments / equipment in the department to the concerned Biomedical and follow up for replacement

➢ Assist / perform the procedure or tests such as per the qualifications, clinical credentialing and experience as approved by the Director

➢ Conduct detail optometry workup for all OPD, EHC & IPD patients.

➢ Conduct OPD Procedures like Perimetry, OCT, Topography, IOL Master, Fundus Camera, FFA, A-Scan, B-Scan, Pachymetry, Specular microscopy.

➢ Follow standard operating procedures including obtaining consent form, counseling the patient and safety checklist during all procedures / tests

➢ Support in transferring and positioning of the patient in OT on need basis

➢ Initiate patient records in Hospital Information System

➢ Ensure proper shift handover to the concerned reliever at the end of every shift

➢ Seek guidance from Clinician about steps of procedure and methodology to enhance a better understanding of the processes

➢ Any other responsibility as assigned by the HOD on the need basis
