About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and motivated AWS Security Specialist with hands-on experience in securing cloud-native applications and infrastructure on AWS. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cloud security, automation, and modern DevSecOps practices. You will play a key role in ensuring the security and compliance of our AWS environments and help drive secure development and deployment processes across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and manage security controls and services across AWS accounts and workloads. Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps). Monitor cloud environments for security events, misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and threats using AWS-native and third-party tools.
Perform periodic security reviews and audits, ensuring alignment with AWS security best practices and compliance standards. Automate security checks, infrastructure hardening, and remediation processes using tools like AWS Config, Security Hub, Lambda, and CloudFormation/Terraform. Manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions to enforce least privilege and secure access management.
Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures. Maintain documentation of security architecture, policies, and operational procedures. Stay updated with the latest AWS security announcements, threats, and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Experience2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud security, preferably in an AWS environment. Strong understanding of AWS services, networking, IAM, VPC, encryption, and security tooling. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security into DevOps workflows (DevSecOps).
Familiarity with cloud-native security tools such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Macie, WAF, Shield, and CloudTrail. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation of security tasks. Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, or GDPR is a plus.
Preferred QualificationsAWS Certified Security – Specialty (preferred). Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Exposure to container security and Kubernetes in a cloud environment is an added advantage.
