Responsibilities:

- Vulnerability Scanning and Assessment:

- Conduct regular vulnerability scans of Windows endpoints using industry-standard scanning tools (e.g., Windows Defender)
- Analyze scan results to identify critical vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk level
- Create detailed reports highlighting key vulnerabilities, potential impacts, and mitigation strategies
- Patch Management:

- Monitor Microsoft security bulletins and patch releases
- Develop and execute patching plans for Windows endpoints, ensuring timely deployment of critical security updates
- Track patch compliance and address any issues with patch installation
- Configuration Management:

- Review and enforce security configurations on Windows endpoints to meet established security standards
- Identify and remediate deviations from security baselines, including user account management, file system permissions, and registry settings
- Incident Response:

- Collaborate with the security operations team during incident investigations related to potential exploits of identified vulnerabilities
- Provide technical expertise to support incident response activities
- Risk Management:

- Assess the potential impact of vulnerabilities on business operations and prioritize remediation based on risk levels
- Communicate security concerns and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders
- Tool Optimization and Automation:

- Evaluate and implement new vulnerability management tools and automation capabilities to streamline the process
- Develop custom scripts or workflows to automate vulnerability remediation tasks

Qualifications:

- Technical Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and security features
- Expertise in vulnerability scanning tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation
- Understanding of network protocols and security concepts
- Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in vulnerability management, preferably within a Windows environment
- Proven track record of effectively identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities
