Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and culturally relevant lessons in Tamil language and literature for students at various proficiency levels.
- Develop a comprehensive curriculum that covers Tamil grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, while also incorporating elements of Tamil culture, history, and literature.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and materials, including textbooks, multimedia resources, authentic cultural materials, and technology, to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Assess student progress and proficiency in Tamil through a variety of formative and summative assessments, and use assessment data to guide instruction and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn Tamil.
- Incorporate active learning strategies, cooperative learning activities, and culturally relevant pedagogical approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Integrate opportunities for authentic language use and cultural experiences into the curriculum, such as storytelling, music, dance, drama, and cultural celebrations.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, academic expectations, and opportunities for language enrichment.
- Contribute to the promotion of Tamil language and culture within the school community through participation in cultural events, language clubs, and community outreach activities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Tamil language, Literature, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching certification or qualification in Tamil language education required.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Tamil language and literature, preferably at the primary or secondary level.
- Proficiency in Tamil language and a deep understanding of Tamil culture, history, and literature.
- Strong pedagogical skills and knowledge of best practices in language teaching, including communicative language teaching methodologies, proficiency-based instruction, and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources for language teaching and learning.
- Commitment to promoting cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and school community.
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of Tamil language education.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages may be advantageous.

Pay: From ₹350.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
