The radiographer works closely with medical teams to provide high-quality images for the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of patient conditions. The role requires strong technical skills, patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of radiation safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including but not limited to X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, as per physicians’ orders.
- Ensure the correct positioning of patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate imaging equipment effectively, adjusting settings and maintaining the machine as needed.
- Review and evaluate images to ensure quality and clarity for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other medical professionals to discuss image results and findings.
- Adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and staff.
- Follow established clinical protocols to ensure the highest standard of care for each patient.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Position patients correctly on the imaging table, ensuring their safety and comfort during the procedure.
- Monitor patients during imaging exams, offering reassurance and answering questions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate documentation of patient records.
- Provide post-procedure care instructions and guidance to patients.

**Operational Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the radiology equipment is properly calibrated and well-maintained, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate team.
- Keep accurate records of imaging procedures, including patient details and images taken.
- Assist in managing inventory and ensuring the radiology department has the necessary supplies.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and sterile working environment in the radiology department.
- Assist in filing and storing images in the hospital’s radiology information system (RIS) or picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Communicate with patients, doctors, and other medical staff to coordinate imaging services and share results when necessary.
- Perform administrative tasks as required, such as updating patient files and preparing reports for physicians.
