Biometric Tester

**What success looks like in this role**:
**Role Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design and execute functional and system test cases for biometric modules including facial, fingerprint, and iris recognition.
- Validate integration of biometric devices with enrolment, verification and identification workflows
- Conduct interface validation testing for third-party systems such as Biometric Engines, SDKs and internal APIs
- Perform offline and network resilience testing to ensure message queuing and retry mechanisms function correctly
- Document test results, log defects, and track resolution in coordination with development teams.
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Support configuration testing for biometric exemptions, validation rules, and device plug-ins
- Participate in defect triage meetings and provide input on severity and impact assessments

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in functional/system testing, preferably in biometric or identity management systems.
- Strong understanding of test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with biometric devices and middleware integration is a plus
- Familiarity with JSON-based validation, REST APIs, and device configuration frameworks.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.

**You will be successful in this role if you have**:
**BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.**

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with biometric integration platforms.
- Exposure to standards for biometric data quality and compliance
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Zephyr.
