**Internships at Carnegie India**

Carnegie India offers three
- to twelve-month internships to support the center's scholars and programs. Interns are an integral part of Carnegie's growing global network.

Interns are provided a stipend. Carnegie India is not able to provide information on possible external sources of funding or provide assistance for visa-related matters. Applicants are advised to check with their academic institutions for information about available sources of internship funding.

**General Requirements**
- Be a recent graduate
- Have an excellent verbal and written command of English

Housing, costs of living, travel costs, and medical insurance connected with the internship program must be borne by interns or by other institutions or organizations. Interns are responsible for arranging their own travel to New Delhi and accommodation.

For consideration, applicants must send
- A one-page cover letter clearly stating the desired position, as well as relevant experience and skills. The cover letter must indicate the period of availability.
- A one-page resume.
- A writing sample of no longer than 800 words.

**Program and Research Intern - Security Studies Focus Area**

Carnegie India is seeking program and research interns, with a background in public policy, international relations, foreign policy, political science, or a related field to work for a period of six to nine months starting 1 March, 2025.
- The intern may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organisational tasks to provide overall support to Carnegie India's Security Studies focus area. The intern will also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and events.
- The internship will require the intern to play a supporting role in helping organise events such as the security studies seminar, the security studies dialogue and Carnegie India's flagship summit - the Global Technology Summit.
- Responsibilities may include research assistance on issues concerning India's foreign and defense policies with a special emphasis on India's relationship with China, developments along India's border with Pakistan and China, and the strategic transformation of the Indo-Pacific region.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong interest in foreign and security policy.
- The ability to be an enthusiastic and creative team player while working both independently and collaboratively.
