As a Chef de Partie specializing in Indian cuisine, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Your role will involve overseeing the preparation process, ensuring the quality and quantity of food, and maintaining food logs to monitor inventory levels. Additionally, you will assist in hiring, training, and mentoring kitchen staff, serving as a role model in culinary excellence.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure optimal cooking conditions.
- Thaw frozen food items in the refrigerator and maintain proper portion sizes, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food, communicating any excess items to the Head Chef for use in daily specials.
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating kitchen staff, providing coaching and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the management team.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to uniform standards and protecting company assets.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs, maintaining positive working relationships with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors to support kitchen operations.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, specializing in Indian cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Indian culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditional recipes.
- Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality, flavorful dishes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
