Delicia Restaurant is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and customer-focused Restaurant Captain to lead and coordinate service within our dining area. The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a positive and collaborative team environment. This role involves direct interaction with guests, managing service staff, and maintaining high standards of food and beverage service. The compensation for this position includes a competitive salary and the opportunity to earn tips.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Guest Service Excellence**:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, paying close attention to special requests and dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to Delicia's service standards.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively address any concerns or complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Handle table maintenance, including pre-bussing, bussing, and resetting tables efficiently.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- **Team Leadership and Coordination**:
- Supervise and guide servers, buspersons, and other service staff within their assigned section.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to new team members.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Assist in resolving any inter-staff conflicts or issues.
- **Operational Efficiency**:
- Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings with service staff, communicating daily specials, menu changes, and important information.
- Monitor inventory levels of service supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Assist management with opening and closing duties as required.
- **Financial Accountability**:
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
- Follow proper procedures for tip sharing and reporting.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and maximizing revenue.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in a similar role within a full-service restaurant environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
