EHS Officer

**Job Posting: Safety Officer (High Priority Vacancy)**

**Location**: BALCO, Korba (ABB Project)

**Qualification**:

- B.Tech or Diploma in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
- ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) or PDIS (Professional Diploma in Industrial Safety)

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3.5 to 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial safety within large-scale projects.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- **Safety Management**:

- Oversee and manage the safety operations of the project site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- **Risk Assessment**:

- Perform hazard identification and risk assessments for the project site, including the implementation of control measures.
- Evaluate work areas and work processes to identify potential risks to workers and the environment.
- **Training & Awareness**:

- Conduct safety induction and awareness programs for new employees and contractors.
- Ensure all workers are trained on proper safety procedures, emergency response, and handling of equipment.
- **Emergency Response Planning**:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans and safety protocols.
- Lead emergency response drills and ensure preparedness for various emergency scenarios.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, safety audits, and training sessions.
- Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to senior management, highlighting any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns.
- **Compliance with Legal and Safety Standards**:

- Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ABB project-specific safety standards and guidelines.
- **Incident Investigation**:

- Investigate accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions and prepare reports outlining causes and corrective actions.
- Follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents.
- **Collaboration & Coordination**:

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to integrate safety requirements into project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with external agencies or safety bodies for inspections and audits.

**Skills Required**:

- Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in safety management software and MS Office Suite.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
