**About the role**
Lead and drive Scientific Engagement & Communications (publications, scientific events, medical education and stakeholder engagement) strategy for an assigned brand(s) (launch or key in-market brands) & programs; ensure the execution of strategic scientific communication plans, including KPI setting and measurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drives development, implementation and dissemination of strategic global scientific communication plan for assigned priority brand(s) within GH: Drives development of the strategy for the plan in collaboration with the GxT, GPT and other Medical/clinical forums. Drives execution of global medical education activities, including scientific events, preceptorships, CME programs etc, accountable for leading a cross-functional publication team and development and implementation of publication plan
- Collaborates across GMA for development of internal medical education content and training materials, represents the scientific communication function at the GH Medical Leadership Team,
- Accountable for all scientific communication with internal customers (e.g. CPOs, Medical Information, Corporate Communication, Social Media, Digital and Investor Relations) in collaboration with GxT, GPT and other Medical/clinical forums
- Establish strong working relationships and actively collaborate with key internal and ex-ternal stakeholders (Med Info, GPTs, GDD, biostats, legal/regulatory, CTS teams, medical experts, speakers, consultants, and professional societies), manage all aspects of publication and medical education agencies (including CTS) in support of scientific communications. Identify and screen appropriate vendors, solicit, evaluate and approve proposals
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and Novartis requirements for scientific communications (publications and medical education materials) such as ICMJE, GPP, CME, Pharma codes, NVS policies (P3) relevant SOPs and guidance, working closely with functional excellence leads within Scientific Engagement and Communications
- Manage all financial and contractual aspects of assigned projects, including vendor negotiations in collaboration with procurement, develop yearly budget for scientific communication activities for assigned product(s) and manage monthly spend within allocated budget in collaboration with GPT, contributes to functional excellence projects across GH GMA, obtaining input from other line functions
- Strategy -Quality of the scientific communication strategy, appropriate to brand lifecycle, quality of support to medical launch excellence strategy for respective brands. Functional Quality-100% compliance with legal regulations, industry codes and internal compliance standards, effective communication, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders, quality of the tactical SEC plan, including publications, medical education, congress activities, supporting brand and business needs, adherence to compliance timelines for respective publications as per SOP ,Quality of medical society engagement collaboration.

- Education
- PhD, or PharmD, desirable: MBA, MPH or equivalent degree in health care/medical field
- 10 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare companies including experiences in countries and/or Global organization (Medical/commercial organizations/departments with focus in Medical Affairs, drug development, or Marketing,)
- 5years of demonstrated leadership including management in a matrix environment, across functions, regions and countries. Experiences in the development of
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare companies, Past successes in a senior scientific/medical communications role ,proven to successfully leverage new technologies/IT solutions for the implementation of Medical Affairs, Development and/or Marketing strategies
- Proven project management skills: project design, stakeholder alignment and management, implementation and success measures
- Strong leadership, influencing, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate and engage with Sr. Management in the organization
- A collaborative, proactive and nimble change leader operating with senior leadership teams in multiple functions, a proven record of accomplishment of working in cross-functional teams and global teams, matrix environment and across cultures, proven business mindset including innovative and critical thinking with performance-oriented drive
- Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
