**Roles and Responsiblities**
- **Patient Interaction**:

- Explain procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort.
- Identify patients accurately and verify their identity.
- Prepare patients for blood draws, which may involve putting someone at ease if they're anxious or have a fear of needles.
- **Blood Collection**:

- Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to collect blood samples.
- Use appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safe and accurate blood draws.
- Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, and observing isolation procedures.
- **Sample Handling and Documentation**:

- Label and store blood samples correctly, ensuring proper tracking and organization.
- Prepare and transport samples to the laboratory for testing.
- Maintain accurate records of blood draws and patient information.
- **Safety and Hygiene**:

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow strict safety and infection control protocols.
- Ensure all equipment is properly sanitized before collecting blood.
- **Other Responsibilities**:

- Assist patients who experience adverse reactions after a blood draw.
- Organize and maintain blood draw supplies.
- May assist physicians and other medical professionals.
