## **Job Overview**:
The **Safety Officer** will be responsible for promoting, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures on-site. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all workers and contractors on the Vadodara construction site adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. You will report directly to the Safety Engineer/Manager and work closely with the site management team to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with relevant laws.

## **Key Responsibilities**:

- **Safety Supervision & Monitoring**:

- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the construction site to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor work processes and identify potential hazards to workers, equipment, and the environment.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times by all personnel on-site.
- **Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification**:

- Perform daily risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions or practices, and proactively address any potential safety issues.
- Develop and implement corrective actions or safety measures to mitigate risks on-site.
- **Safety Training & Awareness**:

- Conduct safety inductions for new workers and subcontractors, ensuring they are aware of the site-specific safety guidelines and emergency protocols.
- Organize and deliver ongoing safety training sessions for workers on topics such as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
- **Incident Reporting & Investigation**:

- Investigate accidents, near misses, or unsafe acts, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents, reports, inspections, and audits.
- **Documentation & Compliance**:

- Maintain and update safety documentation, including safety manuals, site inspection reports, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Ensure all site personnel have the correct safety documentation, such as work permits and PPE certifications.
- Assist in ensuring that the site complies with local regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
- **Emergency Response & Preparedness**:

- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first-aid protocols.
- Be on-site during emergency situations to coordinate safety efforts and provide assistance in first aid or evacuation as required.
- **PPE Management**:

- Ensure that all workers are using the correct PPE for their respective tasks.
- Inspect, manage, and monitor the usage of safety gear (helmets, gloves, boots, goggles, harnesses, etc.) and ensure that equipment is in good condition and properly maintained.
- **Safety Meetings & Communication**:

- Participate in regular safety meetings with the project management and site team to discuss safety concerns, updates, and progress.
- Act as the first point of contact for workers on-site regarding any safety-related queries or issues.

## **Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Educational Qualification**:

- A minimum of a **Diploma** or **Bachelor’s degree** in Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of **2-4 years of experience** as a Safety Officer in a construction environment.
- Experience working on large construction projects with knowledge of construction-specific safety practices and protocols is preferred.
- **Certifications (preferred)**:

- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) certification is highly desirable.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Any additional safety-related certifications or training will be a plus.
- **Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and hazard control measures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage safety protocols effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
