**Job Overview**:
We are looking for an **Import Buyer** with experience in **FMCG products and supermarket assortments** to join our Ahmedabad-based back office. The role involves **international sourcing**, **vendor coordination**, and **forecast-based planning** to support containerized imports for group companies operating in **Dar es Salaam, Tanzania**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Source a wide range of **FMCG products** (snacks, groceries, personal care, household items, dairy, beverages, etc.) from **India, UAE, China, Europe, and other regions**:

- Build and manage vendor relationships with exporters, manufacturers, and traders
- Analyze past sales data and stock levels to create **forecast-based procurement plans**:

- Prepare and manage documentation**:proforma invoices, packing lists, carton details, shipment summaries**:

- Plan and coordinate **container loads** based on stock cycles, space optimization, and seasonal demand
- Maintain accurate product records: SKU codes, pack sizes, units per carton, pricing, MOQs, and supplier terms
- Work with logistics and clearing agents to track dispatches and share shipment updates
- **Experience**: 2-4 years in FMCG buying, sourcing, merchandising, or international trade (retail, wholesale, or distribution)
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, International Business, Supply Chain, or related fields (MBA preferred)
- **Skills**:

- Strong product knowledge of **supermarket items**:

- Working knowledge of **import documentation**:

- Proficient in **Excel** (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, formula use)
- Analytical mindset for demand forecasting and planning
- Strong negotiation and communication skill
- **Language**: English fluency is a must.
- **Location**: Ahmedabad (full-time, office-based)

Tanam Advisory Pvt Ltd is the back office for a group of companies in **Dar es Salaam, Tanzania**, focused on import, wholesale, and distribution of FMCG goods. From our Ahmedabad office, we manage procurement, forecasting, and operations for containerized imports from global markets into East Africa.

**Job Details**:
