**Job Summary**:
The Purchase Executive/Manager for surgical items is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality surgical supplies and equipment while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role involves maintaining a seamless supply chain, fostering vendor relationships, and optimizing costs without compromising quality.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Sourcing and Procurement**:

- Identify and source surgical items and medical supplies as per the organization's requirements.
- Evaluate and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers to secure cost-effective deals.
- Monitor market trends and supplier activities to ensure competitive pricing.

**Inventory Management**:

- Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages.
- Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely procurement.
- Track the status of orders and ensure on-time delivery.

**Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure all purchased items meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for inspections and certifications.
- Handle defective or substandard products and resolve issues with suppliers.

**Vendor Management**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations of vendors and suppliers.
- Develop a network of backup suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply.

**Documentation and Compliance**:

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, company guidelines, and medical regulations.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost analyses, and savings achieved.

**Cost Optimization**:

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting for surgical supplies.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Procurement or Medical Supply Chain Management is a plus.

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the healthcare or medical industry.
- Proven experience in purchasing surgical items and medical equipment is an advantage.

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of surgical supplies, equipment, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
