Our client is a leading independent school located in the beautiful Bayside area. With a culture of continuous improvement coupled with respect, collaboration and generosity they boast a long -term staff tenure in beautiful grounds designed to inspire curiosity and enable excellence. With continued growth and reinvestment, they have a newly created role for a Risk & Compliance Coordinator (2IC) to work closely with the Risk & Compliance Manager, as they continue to ensure best practice programs in order to promote a positive risk management & safety culture within the school and to assist the school meet its regulatory, legal & operational obligations.
**The role**
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager in what is a flat structure you will be assisting with the functions that support the Work, Health & Safety Management Systems and Risk & Compliance Framework to imbed and promote a robust and confident risk culture across the school.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Assist with the risk management learning journey - including conducting risk assessments, critical incidents, work health & safety training
- Ensuring compliance with Child Safety Standards across all campuses - including developing and implementing action plans and monitoring progress
- Audit compliance
- Document control & review - procedures; tools; plans & checklists
**Your background**
You will be a forward thinking, passionate and aspirational leader with a genuine enthusiasm for Risk & Compliance from a strategic & operational level. Ideally you will come with experience outside of the education sector and be able to add value to what “best practice” is. A naturally strong communicator you will have:
- Formal qualifications in Risk Management and/or Health & Safety
- Current Working with Children Check (mandatory)
- Knowledge of VRQA and child safety standards
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships
- Demonstrated skills in managing multiple & competing priorities - with a strong attention to detail
- Sense of humour & flexibility (ability to take part in occasional meetings and events outside of core hours)
**What’s on Offer**
You will be working in a collaborative and positive work environment with a school that is really engaged and supports the Risk & Compliance journey. This is a fulltime role that offers a highly attractive remuneration package - including 5 weeks Annual Leave (inclusive of an extra week due to public holidays), salary packaging (with a 30% rebate), school fee rebate (if applicable) & continued professional development support. On top of that you will be offered a base salary commensurate to your experience that will pay up to $130,000 + Super.
