Project Title: Plastics Collection Centre (PCC)

Internship Title: PCC Intern

Project Goal: Support the startup and establishment of PCC entrepreneurs in Chennai.

Overview of Internship:
Plastics For Change is supporting waste managers in starting Plastics Collection Centers (PCC) in

Chennai. This initiative aims to help micro-scale waste managers expand their operations to a

medium scale. Plastics For Change seeks vibrant and talented recent business school graduates or

final-year students to support the PCC for 3 to 5 months, depending on funding availability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist PCC entrepreneurs in setting up cost-effective infrastructure and operational facilities,

such as weighing tools.
- Connect PCC entrepreneurs with potential plastic sourcing locations, including apartment

associations, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, tea/coffee shops, and kirana shops, to

increase plastic sourcing.
- Identify and connect micro-level scrap shops to supply plastics to PCC.
- Facilitate connections between PCC and urban body workers and authorities to enhance

plastic sourcing volume.

- Ensure PCC compliance with WFTO and OBP standards.
- Support the identification of suitable waste collectors for the E-Tricycle subsidy scheme and

monitor operational aspects.
- Undertake other emerging tasks and roles as needed during the project implementation.

Qualifications:

- Master of Business Administration graduate or final-year student from a reputed business

school.
- Bachelor of Business Administration graduate, completed by the 2023-2024 academic year.

Exceptional final-year students willing to commit their internship time may also be

considered.
- Must possess a two-wheeler with a valid license.
- Resident of Chennai. Having fluent Tamil and English language skill.
