Mechanical Draftsman

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Drafting and Design**:

- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for stamped and laminated components, including dies, molds, and sheet metal parts.
- Prepare assembly drawings, part lists, and dimensional specifications based on engineering sketches or verbal instructions.
- **Documentation and Standards**:

- Maintain and update design documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, tolerances, and company requirements.
- Generate bill of materials (BOM) and maintain records of revisions and approvals.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and quality assurance staff to ensure designs are manufacturable.
- Participate in meetings to discuss design requirements, modifications, and project progress.
- **Problem-Solving**:

- Modify designs as needed to address production challenges or customer feedback.
- Ensure error-free drawings by double-checking dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- **Tooling and Prototyping Support**:

- Assist in the design of jigs, fixtures, and tools for stamping and lamination processes.
- Support prototype development by providing accurate drawings and technical input.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
- Knowledge of stamping and lamination processes, including material behavior during forming.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and machinery used in stamping and lamination.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

**Educational Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Certification or experience in CAD software is often required.

**Industry-Specific Knowledge**:

- Understanding of the design and tolerancing of die assemblies for precision stamping.
