Intro:
As an SQL Database Administrator at CSC, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and maintaining our databases. Your technical proficiency in SQL database administration and ITIL practices will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable performance and data integrity of our databases. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to our mission of delivering a seamless and consistent database experience.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

- Administer, optimize, and maintain SQL databases for optimal performance and data integrity.
- Implement and follow ITIL best practices in database management.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their database requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Respond to and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted services.
- Conduct regular database performance assessments and data backups.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and industry best practices. Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on database-related matters.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience 8+ years in SQL Database Administration, ITIL practices, and delivering a consistent and seamless database experience.
- Strong technical background in SQL database management, optimization, and ITIL framework.
- Familiarity with database security, data backup, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse business units and teams.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL certifications are advantageous.
