We have an urgent opening for the position of Safety Officer

Job Location: GRSE, Kolkata

**Develop and Implement Safety Policies**:

- Formulate and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures specific to ship building activities.
- Regularly review and update safety protocols to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.

**Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification**:

- Conduct thorough risk assessments for ship building processes and identify potential hazards.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive measures.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure adherence to maritime safety regulations, national and international standards, and industry-specific guidelines.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulations and proactively integrate them into the safety program.

**Safety Training**:

- Develop and deliver safety training programs for shipyard personnel, emphasizing the importance of compliance and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular drills and simulations to prepare workers for emergency situations.

**Incident Investigation**:

- Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and other incidents to identify root causes.
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

**Safety Inspections**:

- Conduct routine safety inspections of the shipyard facilities, equipment, and work areas.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address any identified safety deficiencies promptly.

**Emergency Preparedness**:

- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios, including fire, chemical spills, and accidents.
- Coordinate drills to ensure the readiness of the shipyard workforce in emergency situations.

**Safety Communication**:

- Facilitate regular safety meetings to promote open communication about safety concerns and improvements.
- Create and distribute safety awareness materials to keep employees informed.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management and regulatory authorities.

**Collaboration with Stakeholders**:

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into the ship building process.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
