**Job Advertisement: Environmental cum Safety Officer**

We are looking for a highly qualified **Environmental cum Safety Officer** to join our team

**Position**: Environmental cum Safety Officer

**Man Months**: 26

**Key Qualifications**: - Graduate in Environmental Engineering or related sciences from a recognized University.
- Minimum **6 years of professional experience** in environmental aspects of highway projects, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
- Proven experience in implementing Environmental Management Plans (EMP) in externally aided highway projects.
- Experience in conducting **Road Safety Audits** for at least 2 highway/expressway projects (minimum 150 lane km or equivalent), including 1 project at the design stage. - Exposure to Road Safety Management Plans and experience working with externally aided projects is preferred. - Strong understanding of road safety aspects during pre-construction, design, construction, and post-construction phases. *(Note: Project experience of less than one year will not be considered.)* **Key Responsibilities**: - Develop and deliver training programs for EMPIU staff, PWD, EPC Contractors, Site Supervision Engineers, and PIU. - Create and implement good practice construction guidelines for effective EMP implementation. - Review and supervise the EPC Contractor’s EMP in line with ADB's Safeguards Policy. - Conduct regular meetings with EMPIU and SDRC to address emerging issues in EMP, forestry, and wildlife management. - Support periodic environmental monitoring (air, noise, water, etc.) to ensure compliance with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board standards. - Assist in preparing progress reports, monitoring updates, and disseminating best practices from site supervision.
