Opd Billing Staff

**Description**
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, obtaining pre-authorizations for procedures and verifying benefits as needed.
- Accurately document patient demographics, insurance information, and billing codes in electronic health record (EHR) systems or billing software.
- Generate and submit billing claims for outpatient services, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and compliance with insurance regulations.
- Review billing reports and accounts receivable to identify discrepancies, denials, and unpaid claims, and take appropriate action to resolve issues promptly.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, rejections, and denied claims, working collaboratively with insurance companies and patients to address billing inquiries and appeals.
- Calculate patient co-payments, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts accurately, and collect payments at the time of service or arrange payment plans as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records, adhering to HIPAA regulations and privacy standards in all aspects of billing operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing billing inquiries, explaining billing processes, and assisting with insurance coverage and financial assistance options.
