**Your role in our mission**:

- The Data Architect is responsible for managing the flow of data from various data sources.
- Develops Data Models on different data organization platforms like relational databases, big data that support the integration and organization of data across systems.
- Analyze and interpret data to create, review and ad hoc exhibits based on detailed data sets.
- Perform data mining and analysis that impacts forecasts and risk assumptions.
- Build and maintain actuarial models for analyzing healthcare claims, risk scores and demographic data.
- Work with Business, Architects and System Analysts to fully understand the business requirements and translate them into Conceptual, Logical and Physical models.
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models defining information requirements to meet end user needs.
- Partner with development and QA teams to communicate the business rules, data models and ensure test cases target the quality and integrity of the data model.
- Partner with DBAs to transform logical data models into physical database designs while optimizing the performance and maintainability of the physical database
- Works closely with DBA on the DDLs creation, maintenance, and optimization of the database.
- Analytical ability and business acumen to collect multiple sources of data and draw conclusions.
- Responsible for building solutions involving large data sets using SQL methodologies
- Has strong analytical SQL experience working with dimensional modeling.

**What we're looking for**:

- 8 to 14 years of experience working with datasets with strong understanding on how data should be optimized within transactional, reporting, and big data architectures.
- 4+ years of experience in health care industry working with extensive amounts of healthcare data (claim and clinical sides) and major databases.
- Expert knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases.
- Familiarity with Healthcare Industry models (IBM’s UDMH, Teradata’s HCDM etc.).
- Strong SQL skills to assist in the data analysis and discovery of the source data.
- Knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and experience designing & optimizing queries against data in the HDFS environment.

Tech Skills Needed:

- Expert in any data modelling tools like Erwin, ER studio.
- Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Relational Databases (DB2, MSSQL, Teradata, Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11i).
- Hadoop architecture & HDFS environment.
- Knowledge of Medicaid Industry and QNXT claims processing solution.
- Experience working in Agile environment.
